It's been almost a year since this place has been built, and I've been thinking a great way to celebrate it is doing a 24-HOUR HARDCORE BREAKDANCE BATTLE. ... Ok, so maybe not. Anyway, to celebrate this achivement, we will have a chat in the C-Box at the usual time tomorrow (Saturday). If this isn't good enough, then we could switch it to Sunday Night, but that would mean SoE can't make it if he decides to come due to him being from the future (In other cases, different times zones). Waterfox 2009 Well, somehow, we've made it 2 years. We've been balancing on the beam of death several times, almost totally becoming a dead site forgotten, but we're still alive and that is a major achievement for such a small site. So congrats CotS. Hopefully our remaining members continue to post and keep the site alive, cause sadly there aren't much of us left. To celebrate, on Wednesday the 4th of February, (CotS's anniversary) we'll have a chat in the chatbox starting at 4 PM Pacific, 7 PM Eastern. It's an hour earlier cause it's a school/work night. Hopefully you can come and we can survive another year. Maybe. Waterfox 2010 It all began in February of 2007... We started with an Invisionfree forum, fought off a group of trolls, dealt with inactive sages... Ok, I shouldn't need to explain the whole story. There's like 20 copies of it on the site. But here we are, 3 years later and still kicking ass. A little, moreso than the last 2 years. I'm unsure what to do for our 3rd birthday, probably nothing since free time is NOT on my side right now. Maybe everyone can try to visit the chatbox tomorrow evening? And we can all celebrate and remember the good ol' times for those that were around back then. So, congrats CotS and all the members, and hopefully, we can survive another year! (2011) Waterfox 2011 Tomorrow is 4 years since the creation of the Chamber of the Sages forums. Originally opened up to the Sages on February 4th, the original forum was created by Salty53 on Invisionfree. Since then, we have slowly grown and shrunk at intervals of our life. Power has been passed a couple times. We've moved from Invision to Zetaboards in June of 2008. We've had engaging chatbox conversations, short and sweet Mafia games, roleplays that have thrown us into a new world and a server dedicated to building to our hearts content. ... Congratulations to everyone on the forum, you helped us make it to 4 years. We can easily make it 5, too! We might not be off to a red hot start so far this year, but we can easily get things going with help from YOU. That... is all =D Reading through posts on the old Invisionfree forum, it's impressive how much the Chamber has changed. We've all matured since we joined, even if you're one of the more recent additions to our member base. We've become more organized. Our site is clean and navigable. Best of all, we are stable. Everyone here is content with the forum, and the people who were not content left. This is our own little retreat on the Internet. There may be only a small number of us, but with 5 years since the conception of the original forum, the fact that we are still here and still calling this site essentially our internet home is a extraordinary achievement. To celebrate the Chamber's 5th Anniversary, we have some goodies to share with everyone. Firstly, if you haven't noticed, we have a minor skin edit for our 5th Anniversary. It will be the default skin for the rest of February. You can select it from the drop down box at the bottom of the page. The original CotS Azure is there too, just in case somebody wants to switch back. Secondly, you may remember CopShowGuy was taking photos of members to put together a group photo. Well, the photo is finished, and we're posting it here! CotS Group Photo, Spoilerized to Save Space. For some fun, try and see if you can recognize everyone, starting left and going to right! Thirdly and lastly, I've been collecting signatures from members in the forum and using them to create a large card. In the end, I managed to collect 14 signatures. I wish I could've gotten more, but what we have is good enough. This is a large image and might be shrunk down, even in the spoiler tags, so it might be in your best interest to right click and "view image". While I don't expect anyone to, the card is desktop size, so it definitely could be used a background for your desktop. CotS 5th Birthday Card w/ Signatures, Spoilerized to Save Space.
