Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.

Scary stuff. Thankfully, I use PSN cards (and in one case a visa gift card) to purchase things off the store.

PSN will probably continue to be down indefinitely.

Here's more. I'm pretty pissed off about this, actually. I don't remember if I used my debit card or my mother's that has recently expired and I ma not okay with this. Fucking hackers ruin everything, like I've said before.

My credit info was removed just before the crash, thankfully. Part of PSN (certain services, at least) will be back up within a week.

This DOES mean I'll have to change some of my more important account passwords.

You monster.
What people don't get is that the quote from Waterfox was an email being sent out to people who did get their info stolen, so if you didn't get one you're okay.

"The following email will be going out to all PlayStation Network subscribers:"

Of course none of these emails will ask for any personal info. People who got emails like THAT were in danger. Nevertheless, it's quite an issue they're having and the real Sony is alerting and informing all users via email.

So the hacking crisis is over (or has been for a little bit, I guess).

Sony is handing out tons of stuff like a free month of PSN+, Identity Protection and your choice of 2 of 5 Sony licensed games: inFamous, Wipeout HD Fury, Dead Nation, Super Stardust HD and LittleBigPlanet.

I will gladly take LBP and the free month of PSN+.
What about you guys? (who have PS3's)

LBP for sure and I suppose Dead Nation, not that I'm likely to play it.

I don't know where you heard LBP but I only heard about the other 4. They are giving out two PSP games to PSP gamers (one of which is LBP PSP)

Holy shit.

Gonna have to remember this.

Everywhere that says the other four also says LittleBigPlanet, Migs. IGN, for instance. GameFAQS too. Plus GamesRadar.

I'm definitely getting Infamous and Wipeout. I'm stoked.
