Back looong ago when I used GIMP and was just starting out, my sigs we like, awful. My graphics are way better now. I used this tutorial to get started. Very simple, yet, it can teach you guys a few pointers. It even comes with a couple brush packs and a font site to start out with. GIMP people: Check it out! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/285988 |

Well, okay, fine; I made something. I'm sure it's no good, though. Beware the first timer's creation! Spoiler: click to toggle

I disagree, Link. It's not very nice at all! Hopefully, it will satisfy Waterfox, and he won't taunt me and be all like "lern2use GIMP nub" anymore. But really, I had nothing else to do last night, so I figured I might as well do something, and I've had GIMP laying around for awhile, I had to get it for school. |

I thought it was cool; the render fit the Dimentio theme very nicely. |

Maybe I'm being too critical of myself, expecting perfection on the first try; Maybe you're trying to spare my feelings by lying that it's good!

Iunno, I'm not exactly nice, so if it sucked I would have most likely said "that looks like fecal matter coming out of my ear," but I thought it looked good, so I said nice. |

Dimentio is from Super Paper Mario. Anyways, here's me, yet again, trying not to suck, and trying out different gradients and such. Making templates is fun ^.^

Got bored, made some stuff. Didn't really pay attention to the tutorial, it all seemed like obvious stuff.![]() AND, while messing around with it, I realized the things you make in the spore creature demo are saved as renders!

I think I am. My stuff is mediocre at best. I'm just a really hard judge on myself and take forever to justify making something. EDIT: Pumped out another two from boredom. ![]()

Stixx, I'm serious, that Link one is cool Anyways, here's one of me messing with effects and using a gradient I created =D Didn't bother blurring Link's rough edges, because I knew it would turn out looking pretty crappy either way. Ah well, I'm learning all kinds of new stuff.

Nice. That would look pretty cool if the gradient looked a bit sharper, and, like you said, had you blurred Link a bit. I also think it would have looked a lot cooler had you made Link's bow, or arrow, overlap part of the text. I love adding depth to stuff like this. Also, boredom is making me make something on GIMP every few minutes. ![]() I'm considering actually using one of the things I've made as a sig. |
