So I temporarily banned 6 people in the chatbox tonight. I had my reasons, too. Some of you may have heard me say before that I'm enforcing things a little more on the forum and chatbox. I'm not trying to ruin fun and games, but really, sometimes things go too far. The Zero Flare leaving topic inspired me to start enforcing stuff a little more because that topic caused all kinds of stuff. Syndicate's posts that I didn't get to read, apparently, were very crude and not very nice. This does not mean everyone should just start flaming the crap out of him. Sages (and members too) should deal with problems peacefully at first, and if stuff goes out of hand, get help. It's not a free-for-all, and I'd like everybody to know that now. Sure, you can moan and cry about it all you want, you can make fun of me for not letting you flame whoever you want with no penalty. I will NEVER ban forever unless you are a direct threat to the site or the majority of it's userbase. I'll hand out temporary forum bans and chatbox bans, and I'll kick as well. I may have gone a little too far tonight with a few of the bans, but this is just a first hand experience for everyone. That is all. |

Your funny bone must be pretty sensitive. Chidori was a jerk, posted disgusting shock sites and threatened a mass troll-off. Link was a patriotic idiot who cussed out me and quite a few other people, not to mention coming back to troll a bit more. I'm sorry I had to ban you (for one hour and a few hours on the forum because you wouldn't stop posting that topic), but you shouldn't really go around posting Encyclopedia Dramatica pictures because it's hyper-time in the chatbox. |

Oh, I don't care that you banned me. In fact, I totally deserved it, and I won't argue there. But the fact of the matter and what I consider funny is that you've almost literally banned everyone but the one who's a threat to the site. I imagine you'll want me to keep this over PM, but I know you know who I think that person is, so his mention is pointless regardless. He's at the root of every problem, yet you ban everyone that tries to deal with him, because of what? The harshness? Because we're "being mean"? Do you honestly think that three of the most contributing members of the site (currently, anyways), would simply jump on a new guy without cause and immediately jump to flaming? Do you actually know any of us? If so, you'd know that this is simply a response to the repeated acts of this one individual. It is the result of the escalation of our frustration with this person, and a prime example of how simply fed up we are of him. This isn't us simply being "trolls" or "bullies", it's us finally cracking down and laying down the law, our law, the law of the site. The law that everyone here follows unknowingly or otherwise. It's not explicitly stated, it's not even in the rules. It's simply an implicit code of conduct we all follow, except this one person, who simply refuses to be a part of the greater community. You may call it being a "nonconformist" or being "unique", but it's not. It's just a method of seeking attention and disrupting all of us and the site. Yet, despite all this, you always take his side and try to "quell" the flames we bring against him, yet really all you're doing is fanning the section underneath your ass to make yourself feel important to make him stop his petty victimizing. It's pathetic. It's disruptive. It's retarded. Remember, the truth is that we're not the ones who started this, we're just the only ones with the balls to end it. |

I understand a little more now Juggs. Why didn't you say all of that earlier? Unfortunately, your laws of the site versus mine seem to be different. I'm not trying to mean any offence but I don't think I'd enjoy seeing you, Ender and BudZer being staff here. The way you are "dealing" with him seems a little similar with how he flames and trolls you guys. You shouldn't need to resort to flaming him back just to get him to smarten up. If you call a person a douchebag, it's highly unlikely they'll just stand there and take it. So then they insult him back. And then they insult. And then it's just a neverending clusterfuck until someone steps in. I've talked to him via PM and I've warned him and everything. All 4 of you aren't innocent, and I really hope you know that. Nobody on this site seems to have a problem with him besides you 3 either, so why take up the chatbox with arguments and flames? You've got everyone worked up now because they all think we've got some top class "drama" on our hands. I might not be able to deal with problems perfectly and as you want me to, but the least you guys could do is have some self-control. |

It's fighting fire with fire, I admit, but, it's like I said, it was our last resort. Over the entire degeneration of the relationship between us and this person, you've never stepped in once, never interceded, never banned anyone up till now. And now, you've gone and banned the people trying to control the flames (albeit with even more flames), and left the one standing in the charred center to place the blame on those that weren't there to defend themselves because... well, they were banned. I'm not saying it's your fault, but I am saying you're not one to criticize our methods when you're content to let the thing spread out of control in the first place. |
