Are videogame plots TOO complicated?

I know I'm supposed to say something witty and hilarious here so: Something Witty and Hilarious!
I dunno. Sometimes I think I may not just be too bright (Lol) but it seems Videogame plots are a little much to keep up with.

Prime example: Metal Gear solid. I've only played MGS2 and maybe that's why I confused on some things (since I've never played the first one), but still....after I've beaten the whole thing and I'm a little like: What the hell just happened?!

(Spoiler on MGS2 in this paragraph)

From what I understood the whole thing was a set up by the patriots. Why they did it? Especially to Raiden? This guy right here doesn't have a clue. Sometimes I have to GO BACK or look on the internet and go: OH. So that's why A was B.

(Spoiler ends)

Kindom hearts is kinda another one. Don't get me wrong, I love the series to death. But it's like so many dang things happen in there I can hardly keep up. I have a better time keeping up with KH though. I guess MGS is basicaly just the one game that sends my head reeling sometimes.

Anyone else care to comment on this?

Metal Gear's plot is a masterpiece! Of course it's confusing it's all about social and political issues. I haven't had too much trouble wrapping my head around any plot a game has thrown at me.

Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star... Incredible story lines. Yeah they're looong, but I wouldn't use the word confusing. You're not really "meant" to know the full story of the game on Metal Gear Solid 1 or 2 - hence why they released another 2 games - so that you can fully understand after playing them.

Though, Final Fantasy, for example has it's own unique storyline and doesn't actually continue on each game. 7 is different from 8 for example, and I'm not too sure if I prefer that style, or Metal Gear's way of actually using the same character and concept.

Moral of the story, they're not too confusing in my opinion. Though if you're feeling confused, buy yourself a Wii and play some of the kids games on that :P

Days didn't really complicate the plot much more, but I'm afraid BBS will. After all, it's practically the next mainline game, since Nomura referred to it as KH0.
'Sacred Moon Station" was a horrible choice in words. Delete it when you feel like it.

Using Metal Gear Solid as an example is a poor choice; almost no other games even come close to matching its depth. The vast majority of video games, if anything, could use much more complications.

WHAT!? Kingdom Hearts has a complex storyline? Puhhhhhleeeeezzzzzeeee. Now I love the series, but it's not complex. Like. At all.

Most games that have complex ones are explained well, that I have played. But then again, I never finished MGS series, sadly.

Some people (who spoiled or played BBS for themselves) were raging a bit about how much more complicated and convulted BBS has made the KH timeline/ plot, not that it's necessarily as complicated as they it out to be. I guess people were expecting another Days or KH2, but plot and character development-wise, BBS is more on par with KH1 and Re: CoM. From what I've seen, you even get a little character development in the Organization XIII's somebodies (members after Axel and before Roxas not included).
