A classic question: would you rather be blind or deaf? And no, you can't choose neither.

I'd be deaf, personally, since I could not function in the slightest if I couldn't see anything.

I'd go with blindness...

-Learn Braille
-Smart, Awesome Guide dog
-Sweet Shades
-Apparently it hones your other senses incredibly, especially hearing and touch
-Not to mention you may be able to get your sight back eventually, thanks to major advances in technology.

Blindness, because I'm almost there anyway. I might be blind by the time I hit 25.

Also, being blind doesn't make any of your other senses better, it just makes you more attuned to them. Theoretically, if you concentrated hard enough, you could get the same "increased" senses.

I'd rather be deaf. Seeing is just so nice.

I know I'm supposed to say something witty and hilarious here so: Something Witty and Hilarious!
Both are hard to choose. If I'm blind I couldn't see my sweetie. If I'm deaf I can't hear her totally cute voice. I'm going with option 3: Not any of those. :awesome:

I'd much rather be deaf than blind. I'd feel more comfortable seeing my surroundings rather than hearing them.

Both would really suck, but I really could not live with being blind.

Humans are a visual species, so deaf. It'd also be easier to simulate hearing with new technologies than it would be to simulate sight, I assume.

I'd have to go with deafness. Not being able to see the world is far too frightening for me -- more so than not being able to hear it. There are many effective ways to communicate with the deaf (such as simply writing to them), but when you're blind, not even the best poet could possibly describe to you the emotional impact that a sight may provide. Of course, the same could be said about music, but honestly, vision is more essential to my daily life than sound.

I'd rather be deaf than blind. Deafness I could deal with.

It only does that if you develop them in the early stages of development. Neurons that would normally be focused on eyesight are then dedicated to hearing and touch, otherwise you just feel more adept to your senses.

I would go with deafness, because I find writing too important, and since it's moving onto the internet nowadays, I would want to read it there too.

I like music and sounds too much. I'll go blind.
This is a question I often think to myself. If I had to lose one of my 5 senses, sight is at the top of the list.
