Also, being blind doesn't make any of your other senses better, it just makes you more attuned to them. Theoretically, if you concentrated hard enough, you could get the same "increased" senses.

If I'm blind I couldn't see my sweetie. If I'm deaf I can't hear her totally cute voice. I'm going with option 3: Not any of those.

Not being able to see the world is far too frightening for me -- more so than not being able to hear it. There are many effective ways to communicate with the deaf (such as simply writing to them), but when you're blind, not even the best poet could possibly describe to you the emotional impact that a sight may provide. Of course, the same could be said about music, but honestly, vision is more essential to my daily life than sound.

It only does that if you develop them in the early stages of development. Neurons that would normally be focused on eyesight are then dedicated to hearing and touch, otherwise you just feel more adept to your senses. I would go with deafness, because I find writing too important, and since it's moving onto the internet nowadays, I would want to read it there too.
