Kicking off 2010

 Alright, welcome to 2010. I know it isn't 2010 yet from the time this topic was posted, but I think it would be a great idea to let everyone in on what we have planned.

January 3-9 we will be doing our Avatar Contest. Find a good avatar and you could be nominated! The first few days will be nominating, then we'll take the top 4 nominees and do a private vote. Winner gets the best avatar award in their signature =P

January also marks the beginning of USER OF THE MONTH. Users who visit and contribute to the site often may be nominated for this award. If you want to have a shot, here are some ideas:

-Contribute. While you don't need something gigantic, maybe a game review or piece of artwork/writing wouldn't hurt.
-Activity. Visiting mostly every day is good. Posting every day is even better! Visiting the chatbox occasionally is also a definite plus.
-Friendly. Don't be acting like a jerk or prick. Don't be annoying. Help people out. Simple as that...
-Advertise. Not totally necessary but it does increase your odds, especially if you bring in a member.
-Rules. Read them, Learn them, Become them. Actually, not really, but I assume it's really easy to follow site rules.

Doing all 5 of those pretty much guarantees you a nomination. At the end of the month I look over all the nominations and choose our user of the month. Anybody can nominate, if you feel they have filled in most of the prerequisites. Don't nominate just because you like the person or feel sorry for them or whatever. We want people to feel rewarded for their work! If you win you get the User of the Month Award. People who were nominated will also be listed.

Finally, the Chamber will be having it's 3rd Birthday on Feb. 4, a Thursday. We want to make it feel special, so if anyone wants to arrange something, then it'd be perfect. We'd also do a get together chat, but it is a Thursday so I doubt many will come.

We also didn't reach our Year End Goals which sucks, but I bet we could easily hit 20k posts in another week and we are basically 3 people away from hitting the big 100. Comon guys, let's get both!

 We didn't exactly reach 20K by year's end or even a week after, but we're there now, with just two more members to go. Personally, I think 25K is a more important goal though and we got less than 5000 until we get it now. Here's to 25K, 100 members, and by next year or so (hopefully) 50K!
'Sacred Moon Station" was a horrible choice in words. Delete it when you feel like it.
