You monster.
1. Metal Gear Online - A classic. Addictive, always fun.
2. Uncharted 2 - Greatest story, I'd say. Online...eh.
3. Metal Gear Solid 4 - Powerful emotions if you played every MGS game.
4. Modern Warfare 2 - A short story, but one of the most actiony, best story lines I have played in a game.
5. Battlefied Bad Company 2 Beta - It's bright, it's colorful, it has tactics, it's got action, and it's very funny. Not this "dark depressing and grey" stuff that you see in FPS

**This is subject to change, as I haven't played all of the games I got for Christmas yet**

5) Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Godly SRPG and fairly enjoyable story too, even though a bit dumb in some spots. The final chapters leading up to the Endgame are some of the best chapters (Sans Chapter 28, what a filler chapter, just to show off an S-Rank Magic =\)

4) Fallout 3
Main story was a bit bland, I'll admit. But the sidequests were interesting and it was fun exploring and leveling up. The only bad parts were the subway stations, those places were dark, confusing and a pain in the ass!

3) Zelda: Wind Waker
Holy geez, what a fun game. Dungeons weren't as ugh as they were in TP, sailing the great sea charting all the islands was fun. Also, the best final boss fight I've ever seen, sans the super easiness of it. The triforce hunt was boring though and there could be more inhabited islands, though.

2) Mother 3
Ah yes, what a game this was! A worthy end to the trilogy. While Chapter 8 was a bit short to my liking , the ending was perfect yet I craved for more (Sadly the series is over! GAHHHH). The combat was fun and the soundtrack amazing, but, like Wind Waker, I wanted more inhabitable areas. More people makes games more fun!

1) Uncharted 2
Yeah, this was a given, huh. Amazing Graphics, Gameplay, Fun Multiplayer and the Story was just wow! The first half of the game was great, but it peaked at the train levels IMO, but the last 3 chapters of the game redeemed itself just enough to consider it my Game of the Decade. Sadly the final boss fight was poorly done (Naughty Dog sucks at Final boss fights. See: Uncharted 1, Crash Bandicoot 2) and needed a little more kick. But if they ever made this into an actual movie in theatres, I'd so watch it.

Those were my games of the decade. I'm surprised I managed to conjure up 5 games I really enjoyed but in the end, these are games I'll remember the most!

2) Call of Duty:4 Modern Warfare
Great story Realistic game play And the best multiplayer i have ever experinced this is one of my favorite games of all time.

1) inFAMOUS

DS Homebrew FTW
Decade, you say.

Pokemon Gold - It's the best generation. In my top 3 ever.
Majora's Mask - OoT with character development? Do want. In my top 3 ever.
Paper Mario - The first game I really was amazed with at how much they fit into it.
Wind Waker - The only one here I haven't finished yet. I still have a phobia of the open water in the game.
Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga - Hilarious and replayed a lot. In my top 3 ever.
PM:TTYD - My favorite game on the Cube.
Sonic Advance 3 - Sonic? On a Nintendo system? Very awesome trio.
Minish Cap - Developed by Capcom, with Link back in 2D. Also love the ALttP remake.
Super Mario Galaxy - It's like Super Mario 64, but with spheres. Mario platformers are insta-win for me.
The World Ends With You - Looking back, there are too many DS games for me to fit, so I went with my favorite.

My ten in order of release. If the original Smash Bros was in this decade, it'd be here.

F.E.A.R.: Probably one of the best horror FPS's I've ever played. The online was also intensely addicting.

Area 51: Another extremely enjoyable Sci-Fi horror FPS. The use of one of the most well-known conspiracies in American history made this game insanely interesting in terms of its story and enemies.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2: Possibly one of the best FPS's that has ever hit the consoles. Infinity Ward's expert implementation of modern weaponry and technology made these games intensely fun and addicting.

All of the .Hack// Series: These games were so impressive with their stories and concept. Plus, the RPG gameplay was flawless in every installment.

Resistance 2: And improvement upon its predecessor in almost every way, Resistance 2 built upon both the story and online of Resistance 1, improving everything from weapons and graphics to user interface.

Those are my picks for games of the decade.

Portal: Self explanatory. Fun, makes you think (if only a little) and a neat concept. What really makes this one of my favourites though has to be the voice acting. GlaDOS and the turrets. :3

Bioshock: Decent graphics, compelling story, more fun than a typical FPS, simply because of the plasmids. Also, my first 360 game. Can't wait for the sequel.

Assassin's Creed 2: The story was orgasmic. The controls were basic, and yet still very much fun. One of the only sandbox games that I didn't get bored of partway through.

Megaman Battle Network 5: Why five? Because that's the one I own. Everything about this game makes me want to go import a PET and some battlechips. The battle system is probably my favourite out of any Action RPG ever.

World Ends With You: Most creative game I've ever played on my DS. Story was delicious, and the characters were great.

Final Fantasy Dissidia: This game completely changed my view on Final Fantasy games. I used to dislike them, simply because I'm not fond of (read: hate) turn based video games. I haven't finished Dissidia, but it is loads of fun so far.

Left 4 Dead 2: :D I'm totally on a valve high right now. And a Zombie killing high. This game was sheer gore, and I loved it. Thankfully it has multiplayer, because the story is quite short.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: A step up from my favourite party game, SSB. Personally, I prefer Melee to Brawl, and my friends and I have logged hundreds of hours on this game.

This list is huge. >>
Anyway, other honorable mentions are:
Majora's Mask
Twilight Princess
GTA San Andreas and 4
Halo 3
Rockband
Metroid Prime 3

1. Jak II (and for all other intents and purposes, the rest of the Jak and Daxter series can stay in this spot as well):

The graphics are able to stand up to those of current day and the game is already six years old. It has brilliant game play with loads of variety to keep interest going. The game is crushingly difficult, giving it a very long running play clock. I still pop it in from time to time and play it for hours on end. The story is perfect, the comedy is top class, the art is amazing. Not to mention that it's made by Naughty Dog.

2. Shadow of the Colossus

Brilliance comes to mind when I think of SotC. The game was designed on the platform of having sixteen boss fights all in rapid succession and with no annoying mooks to get in the way. It proves that legions of lesser enemies don't need to be destroyed for an artistic experience to be formed. The puzzles are unparalleled, the scale is unbelievable, the music score gives me goosebumps, and the ending makes me tear up a little every time.

3. Valkyria Chronicles

On the subject of games that make me cry, this game made me do it three different times throughout the story, and it continues to do it each time I replay the game. Characters are believable and likable. The game is incredibly strategic, and often has me up and barking at the television screen for my damned scout to turn around and hit the shocktrooper running around behind it. Probably one of the few good love stories as portrayed in a game, and it didn't have to use sex to do it. The stylistic choices are again top notch, with beautiful cel-shaded rendering.

BTW, Kevin Abbott for character of the decade as well.

4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Did I tell you I'm a sucker for Cel-shading? I'm also a sucker for sailing, and even if it's repetitive, I can almost feel the salty sea air against my skin as I sail across the open waters. The game has atmosphere, and it makes everything seem so lovable. A sort of internal bliss comes to mind when I think of this game and I can't even describe why.

5. Paper Mario (series)

This game was another staple of my childhood, along with Jak II. I play it all day with my neighbor and I would literally run across the street to his house and pound on the door any time I got to a Princess Peach level because those were totally the coolest...stop looking at me. The turn-based game play put my young mind to work as well. And when there was a sequel, well you can probably tell that I had to change my pants when I found out about it. It was the first game that I got on release day I felt triumphant as I left the store to go play a game that continued my childhood RPGlove.
