Another Update Before the Holidays

 Hello everyone. I've got some good stuff here in this topic, so give it a good read!

First off, Ad Removal will go live sometime by the end of this week. We'll be buying about 150,000 hits worth (25 dollars and should last us about a year and a little bit, depending on our activity and popularity in 2010).

Second, the Revised Award System will be up and running sometime during the Holidays, so look forward to that! We'll be including some new awards, some old award and some of the winners from some of the categories from the 2009 Awards.

Thirdly, WE WILL BE DOING A DOMAIN CHANGE STARTING VERY SOON.
This is very important.

The site, starting in a couple days time, will redirect to a .net domain. So, to access the site, you will need to use www.chamberofthesages.net. Not .com. If you have the site homepaged or bookmarked, you may want to change it very soon. The .com domain will still work until Jan 3, 2010, so you have time to get used to the new link.

I'll provide some extra safety steps in case some people end up getting lost. I have a feeling somehow, someone will and panic. So:

- If you can't find the site somehow, TYPE THE NAME INTO GOOGLE. We are Chamber of the Sages. We are the first thing that pops up, and a subforum will also pop up too.

- Bookmark the default URL of the forum: http://s1.zetaboards.com/chamberofthesages/ This is this the default link, and no matter what it will always take you here.
***NOTE NO POSTS OR TOPIC OR ANYTHING WILL BE DELETED. WE USE A CNAME DOMAIN. THIS SITE RUNS ON A ZETABOARDS SERVER***

- Board wide emails will be sent out a couple days before the .com domain expires. If you no longer use the email you signed up with, please go to your profile and change it to insure you got the message. Also, make sure you checkmark the box that allows you to accept emails from the board administrator.

Finally, we may add some Holiday Cheer to the skin, maybe some snowflakes or something for a couple weeks. I'll talk to SL and see if he wants to do that.

Also, starting in January, we may start a "User of the Month" sort of gig. (This was inspired from the awards). People who contribute the site, who are friendly, who donate or advertise for the site etc. will be eligible for a User of the Month prize. This WILL be chosen by me (As allowing members to vote could favor or skew results, and I can easily monitor everyone). Everyone has a chance so long as they do something to help the site out. There may be some rules applied (Such as you can't win two months in a row, you must be "X" number of days active etc.) We will of course add an award for this.
This is just the general idea, the final idea may be changed with feedback from the members.

Don't forget the Zathyus awards. Starting the 15th (I believe) we will need full site support so we can have a shot at winning one of our categories! So be ready to vote at any time!

And finally, we are only 2,500 posts or 5 members away from our goal(s)! We have less than a month left, so if you want the surprise at the end post or advertise hard! We can do it, I'm sure.

 The .net domain is now up and running! Get used to it!

On the subject of Ad removal, it might not happen for a while yet. Something to do with my credit card acting up. So Ad Removal is now indefinitely postponed.

 I bookmarked the new link and deleted the one. By that, I mean the little bar inbetween Firefox's tabs and the address bar. I'm so glad that I found out that you could do that. You just drag from the site or bookmark area into a blank space on the.. Actually, I think it's better to show it than try to explain it.

I wonder if we can get either of the two in 17 days. The post count still seems fairly likely, as long as the RP stays active. I hope my writer's block isn't hurting things too bad though. We got a little over 2051 or so posts to go to btw.

 Unless someone posted before me, it was supposed to be the number of posts left after mine. Maybe, a "little under" or around 2050 would of sounded better.

 News just in. Sed has generously offered to pay for our Ad Removal, so it turns out we will be getting it after all! Everyone give a big thanks to Sed!

It'll be ready to go in about a week. Bye bye, Contradicting Google Ads and Graciously Cleavages Women who want us to start adventures!

 If you haven't noticed yet, we have made our theme a little more ready for the Holiday season. It'll be staying up till after New Years so you all have tons of time to enjoy it! Give some props to SL for setting it all up!
