That path leading up to the final showdown in Super Mario Galaxy was pretty awesome. The fight wasn't as much (still good).

A lot of things in the Star Wars games had pretty epic boss fights.

Mithos isn't really epic.

At least he wasn't to me.

Anyway, there's really nothing I can think of at the moment.

The final battles in the two M&L games stand out for me (epic music), and Twilight Princess had the very epic four-stage one.

Red in GS was very awesome, yes. Anyone else can't wait to face him in HGSS?

The most epic boss fight I have ever had was the final boss in Prototype.

The whole fight probably lasted close to half an hour. I had to keep running from him to grab soldiers and heal. But I kept fighting him slowly. Whenever I did not require health, I would transform into a soldier and help them fight him.

When he got low on health a 2 minute timer appeared and all of the soldiers disappeared. I had to really go at him now. I started throwing missiles and anything that would explode and hurt him. He gave me a good whack and I had only a little bit of health left. I threw the missile I was holding at him and he now only had one hit left as well. An ability that lets me use one final devastator attack when near death kicked in but I dodged one of his attacks and did not think that I had enough time to do the attack so I grabbed a missile. There was about 6 seconds left so I threw the missile at him. He flung a jet at me and blocked my missile. There was now about 3 seconds left. He jumped into the air and was about to hit me so I decided to use my devastator attack, the one that looks like a Kamehameha from Dragonball Z. I started charging it, and the clock read 1 second when I hit him with it, killing him and avoiding both expired time and his attack that would have no doubt killed me.

It was epic. I was very excited when I won.

I'm probably gonna say the final fight with Ganon in The Wind Waker. Plus you stab him in the head. How more badass can you get?

Although, granted, I haven't beaten Twilight Princess yet, so that Ganon fight might surpass WW's.

I chose Twilight Princess because I never beat the giant Ganon puppet in Wind Waker yet.

I've got to go back and do that...

Also, I delayed finishing the game up until there for at least three years, 'cuz I had the strangest fear of running into enemies/octopi/storms/whatever while travelling by boat.

Dies first.

I thought the end of MGS4 was pretty epic. But the end of Wind Waker was pretty awesome, too. I have yet to beat Super Paper Mario or Mario Galaxy for lack of interest. I should get on that.

I just don't find many final bosses to be that epic. When you just exploit a simple pattern, it isn't that much fun. Boss battles where things are random are much more exciting. The Rogue Squadron games' final battles are usualy giant space battles. They are quite difficult too. That's what makes them so much fun.

The Final Hazard in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was also pretty cool, though mostly for the music. Shame, that was the last (and only) game in which I enjoyed Shadow's character. If only he yelled "HERE I COME! YOU CREEP!" in other games, I'm sure that Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog would have been received a lot better. (not really)

I agree that at the fight at the end of Wind Waker was the best. It's sort of disappointing how easy it was, but the atmosphere was amazing (Hyrule is flooding around you! THat's awesome) and the final blow was perfect.

I don't think we'll ever get another boss fight like that... =(

Just of the Zelda series, I'd definitely have an easy time of saying Dark Link.
- He was pure evil, not just some final bosses you could actually pity (Wind Waker), and not the sort of pure evil that was bluntly so.
- He's the most friggin' impossible boss in the entire series.
- There's that entire, "dark side" thing going on; even if cliché, I still find it epic.
- He was silent. I cannot stress this enough.

Hmm... But of all games I've beaten, I'd have to go with the The Legendary Starfy (major spoilers ensue; seriously, don't read this if you ever plan to beat the game, it will completely ruin the secret ending). Yes, The Legendary Starfy. Specifically, I'm referring to Old Man Lobber, even if he's technically more of a "secret boss after the final boss." I say this because it was completely unexpected, and such ripe contrast to the bitter easiness of the rest of the game. Plus, he's a freaking lobster going Super Saiyan and obliterating your little starfish ass with one-hit kills--if you do not find this overwhelmingly epic, there is something seriously wrong with you.
