Best. Comic. Ever. I am not lying.

Also, yes. I believe that free will is how we live.

When in actuality free will is the ability to decide something at one's discretion.

The two aren't necessarily exclusive.

What's so confusing about the idea that free will is what allows us to live as human beings, making our own choices and living our own lives? That's pretty much the definition of it to me.

And really, it's hard to say "is" in regards to free will. It's kinda tough to attach a specific definition to a concept we don't even agree exists, wouldn't you say?

This is the way the world ends; not with a bang but a whimper.

I'll try to keep this as short and simple as possible:

I do not believe in free will. Ultimately, your actions are controlled by how your brain reacts to a given situation. How your brain reacts to a given situation is dependent on how your brain works. You do not decide or control how your brain works and you do not often decide or control what situation you're in. Therefore, I cannot believe in free will.
Slaves of our own mind.

How poetic. And true.
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.

Nothing is confusing about the idea of free will, what puzzles me is that free will goes against what we currently know to be valid scientific principles, as outlined previously in the topic.

Also, defining concepts prior to being shown whether or not to be in accordance with observational reality is commonplace. How can we subject a concept to any experimental scrutiny if we haven't decided on the precise characteristics of the concept undergoing the test? Free will is the ability to decide, and no experiment to date nor any phenomenon observed is indicative of the presence of free will in anyone's body.

I'll grant you that, but honestly, that wasn't even the main point of my post. "How we live" and "Make decisions at one's own discretion" are not two concepts that are hard to link, I would think.
