Xbox owners are creaming themselves over this... can somebody who won't treat me like I'm a retard for asking this question please tell me what this is and why everyone and their mum are having orgasms over it? |

Natal as an adjective = birth. That's all I've got for you. EDIT: Looked up project Natal, and I've got to say, it looks pretty nifty. Full body motion controls. We'll see how well it actually works, though. |

Project NATAL is Microsoft's attempt to combat the Wii's motion control. Basically, the selling point is that instead of using a controller, you use your body to control the character's movement. It's pretty cool. Try looking it up on youtube. |

Looks pretty neat, but nothing to get super-excited over I think. It'll probably be nerfed to the point where it's a gimmick, or it'll cost a Launch PS3 and a half. |

I think it looks quite awesome. I'm not so sure how well it will be in incorporated into gaming, but it's quite impressive nonetheless. |

That's what I was thinking. It'll probably be extremely watered down by the time it comes out. E3 is all for show, anyways, so, of course, it would look like the best next thing since sliced bread there =/ |

You can tell that the videos are doctored, because when he scans his skateboard, his hands are over parts of it, but it magically shows up in the Xbox hand free. |

Just found out Sony also has some motion sensor shtick going on now. I guess motion controls bring in a wider variety of audiences (as seen by the Wii) |

Yeah, it looks pretty cool. The demo at E3 was pretty free range in terms of what you could do with it. Apparently, you'll need one of the PS Eyes (or whatever they're called), but it looks worth it. I wonder if they'll just make it a "fooling-around" kind of control, or if they'll develop full-blown games for it. |

Stupid casual gamers. At least Sony's looks like it might actually work for hardcore ones, too. |

"hardcore" gamers are all on PC. Sony's controller is just a rip off of Wiimotion Plus |

^Not necessarily, though, that is the console that best suits hardcore gamers. The main selling point for Sony's motion controller will probably be along the lines of: It's for a more powerful, well-developed console. It's promised to be extremely accurate from the get-go, no need to go out and buy another contraption so the thing works like it already should. From E3, it appears to be extremely multi-functional and extremely ungimicky. And, yeah, it looks like it might apply to a broader audience than those who just like to dick around playing mini-games or use repetitive actions. But I think the main thing is that it's near perfect from the start. |

Have you seen Wii Sports Resort? Basically the EXACT same thing. Fencing, Archery, 1:1 control So you're saying that Sony's controller will somehow magically prevent minigames or repetitive action based games from being released on PS3? They're the exact same controller. If one's a gimmick, so is the other. It may be perfect from the start, because of the reason I stated earlier: It's a rip off of the Wiimotion Plus controller. They already knew what to integrate because they already had a perfect prototype. That's fine. That's where improvements come from, but the point still stands that it IS a ripoff of Wiimotion Plus. |

And presumably the Wiimote was a ripoff of another company's technology. Edit: And did you actually see Sony's press conference? The thing was practically a mouse for a computer, barely any gimmicks attached. Edited by Juggernaut, Jun 15 2009, 11:06 PM.
