What is a PIP? A PIP (which I seriously don't know what it stands for) is the image right below your avatar. Consider it a forum rank. The more you post, the better rank you get. Sages get their own personal PIP's, so they cannot get forum rank PIPs. Do I get any benefits for having a higher PIP rank? Of course. If you have a higher PIP rank, you have access to a couple more forum goodies, so to speak. If a Sage retires or goes missing, then people with higher post counts and better ranking PIP's will be considered as replacements (Given the Sage does not have an "Apprentice"). People with higher post counts are also more generally respected on the forum. How can I easily raise my post count? Besides spamming (which we don't tolerate) you can post in quick, easily postable topics. A Good example is the "What are you listening to?" topic. We also host a Poll daily, which is an easy way to gain posts. Discussion and Debate topics are also welcomed, given it avoids religion and other offensive topics, which can easy offend someone. The only place where you cannot gain posts are the Member Forums, where it would be easy to spam posts. Does the chatbox have ranks as well? Nooot quite... The chatbox has 5 "ranks". Green for guest, which generally turn out to be new members, cookie clearers or duds. Blue is for member, and this goes for everyone who does not have a Sage title. Silver are for Junior Sages, and Gold is for Senior Sages. Brown is for banned. If you see anyone brown, it is probably somebody that we seriously don't want here, or people are just fooling around. Gold Members can turn into "Super Guests" as well. XAT considers it a stealth mode (a poor one, to be honest). If you see somebody who should have a higher rank that is green, then it's probably someone who is a super guest. Moderators and Other Owners will notice that all options are grayed out when you click a super guest. Chamber of the Sages PIP Ranks  Cucco (Newbie) Requirements: Registration -These guys are new members to the site. The only people you will probably see with this PIP are either new members, or members who have signed up but have gone inactive. D=  Hylian (Member) Requirements: 40 Forum Posts -People with this rank have proven they aren't just here for a short time. They are fully fledged members. Hylians are usually occasional visitors, or people that just don't seem to post much on the forums. (But they should  ) Goron (Veteran) Requirements: 100 Forum Posts -Nice, 100 posts. People with this PIP have already unpacked and are ready for a nice life at the Chamber.  Zora (Advanced Veteran) Requirements: 200 Forum Posts -It's clearly obvious that you like it here if you have 200 posts. Usually once you hit around 200 posts we'd consider you an active contributor to CotS.  Korok (CotS General) Requirements: 300 Forum Posts -You're getting there! Keep posting! We're rootin' for yah!  Gerudo (CotS Elite) Requirements: 400 Forum Posts -Tired of CotS yet? Probably not, you've posted 400 (maybe even more) posts. Respect +15. Keep posting!  Rito (CotS Ultra) Requirements: 500 Forum Posts -Halfway to 1000! You're probably in the Top 15 posts for sure now... keep it up!  Sheikah (CotS Master) Requirements: 650 Forum Posts -Either your going for the burn, or you just love to post alot. Either way, 650+ posts is nothing to scoff at.  Hero of Time (CotS Savior) Requirements: 850 Forum Posts -I can't think of anything to say... Good job, yeah!  Morshu (Resident Bombs Salesman) Requirements: 1500 Forum posts -I'd say a CD-i quote here, but you know what? I won't. Take that, conformity! --- There are two more ranks not listed here, requiring insane amounts of posts, 800 and 1500. I doubt anyone will be reaching those in a loooooooong time, so I didn't bother making PIP's for them. Don't try and prove me wrong, you'll get bored before you do. --- Sage/Staff PIPS These PIP's are special. I mean, very special. They even have the Sage's name on them! Four (almost five) people at the old CoTS had more than 1500 posts, three of which had more than 2000. People will get there, eventually, as long as we stay alive. |

I was bored today, so I made the 800 post PIP. You could easily guess what it is if you went to the old CotS forums. Hero of Time Requirements: 850 Posts (Used to be 800... not anymore :3) -I can't think of anything to say... Good job, I guess The 1500 posts PIP is still going to be kept a secret though... but it's something unexpected (sort of), so you could never guess it. Maybe. Is it an octorok? They've been in and are all over the place in every Zelda game except Twilight Princess, I believe. An octorok could symbolize great veteran status. It would be unexpected because they are among the weakest enemies, so putting them above a lot of the races and Hero of Time would be weird and awesome. If it is not an octorok, you should definitely change it to one or make an octorok one for even more posts. |
